My own view of a teacher being a manager is something I can see myself being. A teacher is one who has to manage their students and make sure they are doing what they should be. It is a duty be a manager and it is a duty to be a teacher. We also have to take inventory of what our students do and do not know. Without a manager in a store, the store would fail, and without a teacher in a school, the school would fail.
For the 21st century, I believe this idea still works. More technology is being invested in the cirriculum and we have to do our best to make sure our students know how to use it if avaliable. I feel as though students should not only see a teacher as a manager, but as a person they can count on and respect. We have to show them that we want them to learn and not just there to keep an eye on them. I think the biggest part the manager needs to be concerned with is the classroom management aspect. I say this because we have to create a comfortable, safe environment for our students to learn and managing the environment is something of a managers job.
